I wanted a Captain America outfit for the 4th of July, so I DIY'ed it. I'm seriously sad that whoever is in charge of marketing the Avengers movie hasn't tapped into the women's clothing fanbase. All the stuff I've found is for guys!

The skirt pattern is A6944 by NewLook. It's available at Walmart. I'm going to make another skirt with the same pattern that has all the Avengers on it.

Great tutorial! Some questions: what type of stitch do you use? Zig-zag? Or some type of decorative stitch? Size? Regular presser foot? A bunch of WW tees waiting to be altered...

I use a standard straight stitch (size 3) and a regular presser foot. Nothing fancy. I also plan for 5/8 inch seam allowances as I alter my material. Good luck with your alterations! :)
